On 05th Jan’2009, a spl Ops Sukha was carried out by the troops of BOP S S Wala Ex-30 Bn BSF alongwith ‘G’ team ABR. During the ops, at about 0930 hrs, party observed a heap of dry grass laying under a prominent Kikar tree in dry nala (Peer Baba Nala) near BP No.229/4. A veh tube tide with a plastic rope at both ends was found buried there. On opening the tube 14 pkts (appx 01 kg each) of suspected heroin and 04 citizen watches were recovered from this tube. |
On 18.1.09 at about 1730 hrs, a special search operation was organized by the troops of 130 Bn BSF and ‘G’ staff FZR in association SNC staff in AOR of BOP J N Mohd, Ex-130 Bn BSF. The party observed a white colour polythene bag near a Sheesham tree duly concealed and camouflaged with dry grass/bushes On opening of the suspected bag, 05 Pistols (Chinese made), 09 Pistol Mag and 12 Rds of amn were recovered. |

On 24th Jan’ 09, On a specific G info , a Spl search operation was launched by the troops of 43 Bn BSF alongwith Fd ‘G’ Team FZR in AOR of BOP D R D Nath 43 Bn BSF ( Mamdot- FZR Sector ). At about 0905 hrs during the search of the suspected area, the party observed some fresh dug soil under Ber tree. After some deep digging, the search party recovered a black polythene bag containing five packets wrapped with yellow adhesive tapes. On unwrapping of the packets, the party recovered Rs. 9,96,500/- FICN in the denomination of 1000/-, 500/- and 100/-. |
On 29th Jan 09 at about 0145 hrs, a spl naka was organised by DC(G) team ASR alongwith the troops of 65 Bn BSF (Khasa, Amritsar Sec) in area of BOP Pul Kanjri. At about 290210 hrs naka party observed suspicious movement of two smugglers on Pak and Indian sides in dense fog who reached near the fence around 0210 hrs. As the Pak smugglers were in process of clearing the consignment by inserting a pipe through the fencing, own naka party challenged them. On being challenged, the smugglers fired upon BSF naka party . Own naka party fired in self defence . However, the smugglers managed to escape taking advantage of dense fog, darkness and thick growth of wheat crops. During the search of the area, the troops recovered 13 Kgs Heroin, Rs. 32,99,000/-FICN, 07 - Pistol (.30 Cal) and 14 Pistol Mag. THIS IS ONE OF THE RARE OPERATIONS WHERE ALLTHREE MAIN ITEMS OF SMUGGLING i.e NARCO, FICN AND ARMS HAVE BEEN SEIZED IN A SINGLE OPERATION . |

A special search ops was planned and carried out by the troops of 130 Bn BSF and Fd ‘G’ team FZR on 3rd Feb 2009 from 1000 hrs to 1300 hrs in AOR of BOP Kulwant. At about 031140 hrs search party noticed some suspicious item inside bushes near BP No.176/1. On thorough search, the search party recovered one plastic bag concealed in the bushes. On opening the plastic bag, the party found 05 Pkts (each weighing approx 1 Kg) of heroin wrapped in yellow colour adhesive tape. |
On 08.03.09 at about 1200 hrs, on the basis of specific information provided by SNC Punjab, DC(G) team Ferozepur and troops of 130 Bn BSF carried out a special joint operation in association with SNC team ASR in AOR of BOP T. Bundh, ex-130 Bn BSF. During intensive search of the area at about 1400 hrs, the party recovered 06 Pkts of narcotics suspected to be heroin wrapped in yellow colour adhesive tape which was kept in a white colour sand bag concealed in standing dense wheat crops.

On intervening night of 3/4 March’2009, on a pin point information of DC(G) Amritsar, special nakas were laid by the troops of 65 Bn BSF and ‘G’ staff in area of BOP Mahwa, Ex 65 Bn BSF. At about 040015 hrs, two smugglers from both sides reached near BS Fence as Pakistan smugglers have thrown some packets over the fence, own naka party challenged them. On being challenged, smugglers started firing upon own naka party. BSF troops immediately retaliated in self defence. The exchange of firing continued for about twenty minutes. It was observed that one Pak smuggler has been killed near fence on Pak side. The other who tried to escape apprehended. During the search of the area troops recovered Heroin - 08 Pkts, Pistol -01 No, Mag -01 No , Pistol Amn -03 Rds,12 bore Gun - 01 No Cartridge 12 bore- 05 Nos from the spot.

Annual garden and flowers show competition 2009 was conducted by the Cantonment Board Jalandhar Cantt on 08th and 09th Mar 2009 . A lot of Army and civilian teams participated in it . Hqs Punjab Frontier also participated in it in big way . In a stiff competition , Hqs Pb Ftr won the following prizes :- v Over all Champion Ship - 1st Position v Residence garden large size (IG’s Residence) - 1st Position v Residence garden Med size (DIG/PSO’s) Res - 1st Position v Institution of garden ( Adm block ) - 1st Position v Potted flower competition –I - 1st Position v Potted flower competition – II- - 1st Position v Cut flower IG’s Residence - 2nd Position v BSF Sr Sec School – Lawn - 2nd position v Foliage plants competition - 2nd position v Potted - 2nd position
I addition to above, certain positions were also been obtained in various competition by the Composite Hospital Jalandhar. | |
